I travelled to Druskininkai for a sports competition, and did not have any option but to stay at this hotel. While on first glance it looked ok, it is not a place I would reccomend to any friend of mine. Pros : excellent location, with easy access to the river and easy walking distance to some decent restaurants. Surprisingly the hotel resturant was really good, even if expensive and portion sizes small. I had read previous reviews and was expecting the hotel to be dated - which it was, that isn't the problem. The hotel was dirty, really dirty. So many of us staying the the hotel had stuffy noses / sinsus - which resolved when we walked outside. We came to the conclusion that the hotel is in need of a deep clean, the carpets are filthy and are in need of replacement, air conditioning blows mouldy air. I want to say service is terrible, but that implies there is service. Staff are extremely rude, and spend more of their time standing outside smoking than behind the desk. The light switch in my room was faulty, and the bath plug did't work (and had to be replaced by maintenance in during my stay). Rooms are not serviced daily, you have to request room cleaning - and even then its literally someone throwing clean towels into the bathroom and collecting old ones. Beds were simple "foam" like you'd see in a hostel, and linen didn't properly cover the mattress, and my towels were replaced with stained towels. This property could actually be amazing with a little effort - but sadly, the effort was zero. This hotel is on the cheap end of things, but still over-priced for what you get.
